Two colossal heavy shipments flew 8,000 km from Frankfurt, Germany, safely arriving in Jiangsu, China – a critical airlift by NCL.

Even NCL.’s seasoned team was stunned by the Siemens equipment dimensions.

Each piece weighed over 40 tons, maxing out at 8m long, 4m wide, and 2.2m high – exceeding most cargo planes’ limits.

With only 10 days total, timing was critical.

NCL. immediately assessed options but found Boeing 777 doors too small, the An-124 fully booked, and the Super Guppy’s interior unsuitable.

After 72 non-stop hours coordinating globally, a solution emerged: use a rare European Boeing 747-400 nose-loading freighter.

Its upward-opening nose made it one of few aircraft capable of swallowing these “iron behemoths”.
