European/American project logistics is “slow by design”—building a high-speed rail takes 10 years (vs. 2 in China), but this slowness ensures stability.  

We worked on a U.S. high-speed rail project that took 3 years from planning to construction: 2 years for environmental impact assessments (to protect bird habitats) and 1 year for community engagement (every resident had to agree). By the time we shipped materials, it was Year 4. This isn’t inefficiency—it’s “perfecting every step” to avoid disputes later.  

A client combined “Chinese speed” with “European/American planning”: Using detailed early planning to avoid conflicts, then executing with Chinese efficiency. The project finished 2 years early—no union or community complaints.  

Our advice: Adapt to European/American “slow planning”—spend 1–2 years resolving environmental/community/regulatory issues first. Then use “Chinese efficiency” to execute. Slow planning = fast, smooth execution.
