In project logistics, the most tricky part isn’t cross-ocean shipping—it’s getting wind power equipment from ports to mountain job sites, especially when rainy seasons turn dirt roads into quagmires.  

Last year, we handled a Southeast Asian wind project: 18-meter turbine blades and complete units shipped from Jiangsu. The job site was 800 meters up a mountain with a temporary muddy road. We conducted a month-long route survey:  

– Used a hardness tester to confirm the road could handle vehicles in dry weather (but not rain).  

– Measured turning radii—16-meter blades needed 12 meters, so we widened a tight 10-meter curve by 2 meters.  

– Shifted blade transport to dry seasons (complete units, with wider tires, went in rain).  

During delivery, we added anti-slip chains to trucks and laid steel plates on muddy sections. When the first blade reached the site, the client’s manager said: “You know this mountain road better than we do.”  

Wind power transport hinges on the “last mile.” Advice: Conduct a job site survey 3 months early—check road hardness, turning radius, and local weather. Details prevent “stuck vehicles” and delays.
