My Freight story - the logistics project of Dubai Metro(01)
Desert tycoons build subways. What exactly?
We know that in the entire United Arab Emirates, the most famous city is Dubai. Dubai has already gained a reputation as an international tourist city and a global port city.
To build this international tourist city and free trade port, Dubai has been aggressively constructing. Therefore, in Dubai, we can see various uniquely shaped buildings, all with distinctive styles and charm.
Because of this, Dubai decided to develop its own metro. Previously, Dubai did not have a metro system.
The Dubai Metro is not built underground in the desert but is above ground, somewhat similar to our light rail system, but faster. It is fully enclosed, with air-conditioned stations and bridges between platforms because it’s too hot there.
The Dubai Metro project consists of four lines. So far, only two lines have been completed, and two have been canceled due to economic reasons.
When we talk about the Dubai Metro project, we refer to the entrances, platforms, and bridges. The entrances typically connect to nearby malls, office buildings, and bus stations.
All the stations are grandly constructed, using a large amount of steel structures, aluminum profiles, and glass curtain walls. The bridges are enclosed and air-conditioned, and they must use glass curtain walls to allow natural light in. Walking on the bridge, you can enjoy the outside view.
The main materials transported for this Dubai Metro project include steel structures, aluminum profiles, glass curtain walls, and other related products such as seals, glue, screws, and similar items.
The material processing factories are located in Dongguan, Guangdong, China.
