In global logistics, air cargo charters are significant. In China, their development had a unique path.

Pre-pandemic, air cargo charters in China weren’t booming. Regular international commercial flights handled most freight, and charter demand was limited.

The pandemic changed things. Many international flights stopped, but global demand for pandemic-related supplies like medical equipment and protective gear remained high. China, as a manufacturing giant, had to supply these to the world. Countries from the US, UK to those in South America needed imports from China. The UK’s medical procurement system even invited us to bid for transporting medical supplies out of China.

This led freight forwarders to get involved in air cargo charters, bringing new opportunities for the business in China.
